Obligation to provide evidence of certain raw materials
The US Dodd-Frank Act obliges companies listed in the USA to disclose and report the use of certain raw materials from the Democratic Republic of Congo or its neighboring countries. These so-called conflict minerals are gold, tin, tungsten and tantalum as well as their derivatives. German companies may be particularly affected if they supply such products - e.g. electronic goods - to US companies. The EU Regulation laying down supply chain due diligence obligations for Union importers of tin, tantalum, tungsten, their ores and gold originating from conflict-affected and high-risk areas entered into force on January 1, 2021. The EU regulations require EU importers to carry out due diligence along their supply chains.
Woco's requirement for conflict-free deliveries and the suppliers' obligation to provide Woco with this information upon request serve as the basis for the preparation of the annual Conflict Minerals Report. This report states whether and in what form conflict minerals are used in the company's products. If conflict minerals from unsafe smelters are listed in supplier reports, suppliers are required to take corrective action and provide it to Woco.

Woco recognizes its responsibility towards its own company, its business partners, the environment and society. Our actions are guided in particular by the values of integrity and fairness, regardless of whether the activity is carried out inside or outside Germany.
We can only achieve this by introducing due diligence obligations in our processes and by ensuring that our suppliers are guided by the same values as described in the Code of Conduct for Suppliers.
